2007 - The Cup Will Come Home !!
The 2006 final was a hard fought, heart stopping but exciting game which kept the spectators and supporters riveted for the 85+ minutes of the game. In the end a disappointing result for Skevies First XV, but all congratulations to the gallant lads from Scotch who kept their heads up and kept pushing until the final whistle. Although some would say that we “deserved” the silverware after a flawless season, the old adage that it isn’t over until the fat lady sings was never truer in a tightly fought game with some excellent skills displayed by the boys on both sides.
The key takeout from the game was that significant representation from Victoria in the Wallabies is a dead cert in the coming years.
Before leaving 2006 it’s appropriate to thank the excellent work of the Year 12 students in 2006 and prior, who have left behind representing Skevie’s on the pitch, but who made such a significant contribution to Rugby in their time at the school.
