SKC Under 13s Gold vs SKC Under 13s Green 10-5
On Saturday morning the year 7s woke up with the prospect of versing each other.
Gold recieved off the kick off. After a couple of phases, Gold Captain Oliver Roberts made a run from inside his own half and scored under the posts. Ten minutes later Paul Hoy went over off a ruck to just put it down in the corner to score Gold’s second try. Play evened out and the push seemed to have faded at half time.There was good running with the ball shown by Nathan Mitchener.
After the break, Green surged forward, and after some good passing from the Green halfback, the backs took it over for Green’s first try of the game. After that, Gold lost its intensity and played defense for the rest of the game. A scrum on the five metre line seemed to ensure the equaliser, but a good ankle tap over the line by Oliver saw the opposition knock it on. Then the full time whistle went. Gold just hung on to win the game 10-5. Special mentions: Zac Lennon for playing his first game.
