SKC Under 13s Gold vs Trinity 10-24
On Saturday, Gold drove out to Trinity sports grounds hoping for their third win in a row. But sadly it looked like we wouldn’t as we were one man down. We were given a man from the Trinity side and play began.
As the game got started, Trinity’s big forward pack was clearly pushing us off the ball, but after a scrum from halfway, Oliver Roberts ran down the line and set up a try for the Trinity reserve player.5-0. Trinity struck back quickly, leaving us defending for ten minutes inside our own 22 and finally Trinty broke through under the posts. 5-5. That concluded the half.
Fullback, Nathan Mitchener’s tackling saved the game for us a number of times, bringing down the big boys as they knocked over all of our boys, but unluckily that wasn’t able to stop one particularly big boy go over. Again Trinity went over leaving us lying in the dust. 5-17. The boys started to lift their game, and off another scrum Oliver rand and passed it wide to Michael Leahy, who scored his first try of the season. Unluckily Trinity sent another big man running and finished us off. 10-24. We had a good game considering the size of not only the Trinity forwards but their backs as well.
