SKC 1st XV v. MH
St Kevin’s 1st XV came into round 4 expecting a challenging game against Melbourne High and were fired up after “Bills wise and worthy word”. As Bill forecasted, it was a testing game with St Kevin’s finding themselves on the back foot early. MH where solid in defence and attack and countless penalties against SKC made things even harder.
However as we began to find our rhythm the team relaxed, the continuity came and the points starting coming through. Darcy Etrich proved too agile for Melbourne High scoring the first couple of tries and Jack De Guingand found himself on the try line after weaselling out of MH’s maul and finding a clearing in the park.
The Second half proved much tougher than the first with MH aiming up, but a well drilled, conditioned SKC outfit proved impenetrable holding MH up in defence. Dave Hardisty came out firing putting in a massive hit on MH’S 5/8 and box kicking beautifully to keep SKC in the safe zone. Two more tries from Darcy Etrich kept MH at a distance allowing SKC to run away with the game.
Final score SKC - 39 MH - 0
