SKC Year 7 Gold vs Marcellin July 21st at Marcellin
On Saturday SKC travelled to Marcellin to play what would be an exciting match against some big opposition. The end result, after being a try down with four minutes to go, was 19-20, in our favour.
It was a slippery and foggy morning, with our players barely able to see the other side of the field. Because of the slippery and wet conditions, ball handling was very hard with a lot of dropped balls, but with disciplined play we picked up the ball and kept on going, catching the opposition on their backfoot.
Tries were scored by Oliver Roberts (3) after breaking from scrums on both occasions and Felix Mason (1) with a forty metre run weaving around and side stepping the opposition with lightening pace.
SKC should congratulate Josh Balia and other flankers for giving up their positions because of the opposition not having enough players. Excellent stepping and running by Felix, great penetrating runs by Oliver and Paul Hoy and great tackling by Nathan Mitchener helped win this close encounter.
