Referee and Touch Judge training courses
Remember that we have a major shortage of referees and touch judges in Victoria. Last year, some matches were cancelled due to a shortage of referees.
Courses are being run over the next few weeks by the VRU to become either a Touch Judge, or coach, or a referee. The courses will be held before the start of the season so you can be involved in helping if you wish.
- Touch Judge courses: 8th of April, at Scotch College, (and there will be others) - this takes about 2 hours in the evening.
- Foundation course, for Coach or Referee: 20th of April at Eltham - this takes a full day, and qualifies you as a base level coach and referee.
If you are interested in being involved, you can become a referee, or a touch judge, or a coach. Students of Year 9 or older and parents that would like to do one of the courses are most welcome to do so. Flyers for these courses are attached.
Please feel free to either register directly with the VRU or to contact myself or one of the committee for further details.
Paul de Guingand.
