SKC 1st XV downs a brave new Carey team
SKC 1st XV 88 CGS 0 After a shaky start where handing errors halted progression, the SKC team produced a good display against a CGS side new to 1st XV competition. Notwithstanding the limitations of the opposition, the quality of SKC’s play improved steadily as the game progressed and some fine pieces of continuity play saw a large number of tries scored. With a solid set piece and the backs running at pace, SKC were able to stretch the CGS defence with some fine handling and quick ruck ball.
SKC were able to try a number of different combinations in the forwards and the backs. The players should be congratulated on adapting to change and producing a pattern of play that was pleasing for the spectators. All would agree that there is a great deal of work to do, however, the boys can be pleased with reasonably smooth start to the season.
